The Design Story

We discovered a bolt of unused vintage kimono fabric—pristine cream silk adorned with coral-red seigaiha (wave) patterns. The condition is exceptional, as this textile has waited decades to fulfill its purpose. We knew immediately: something this beautiful deserved the simplest treatment.

The seigaiha motif isn't just decorative—it's an ancient symbol of eternal peace and good fortune, its concentric waves representing the endlessness of the sea and sky. Wearing it feels like wrapping yourself in centuries of well-wishes.

This is the straight-cut silhouette perfected: it skims rather than clings, creating clean vertical lines that elongate without restricting.
