To ensure this beautiful cycle remains unbroken, the designer RIKA SHIOYA herself still sits at the sewing machine, guiding each needle. Her craftsmanship resonates with the expertise of the master tailor, ensuring that every stitch upholds the highest standards of quality and dignity.

Rika Shioya
Founder and Designer of RIKA SHIOYA BOUTIQUE
A graduate of Kuwasawa Design School in Japan, Rika Shioya began her career in the intimate fashion industry, notably as a designer for Yohji Yamamoto’s innerwear brand, innunder.
In 2000, she moved to London to further her studies, earning both a BA (Hons) and a Master’s (MA) from the London College of Fashion. Her BA graduation collection, featuring vintage kimonos, received high acclaim, leading to the launch of her eponymous womenswear brand, RIKA SHIOYA, in London.
After returning to Japan in 2007 to continue her creative journey, she relocated to Hong Kong in 2012. Since 2013, she has been creating one-of-a-kind pieces that harmonize vintage kimonos with unique textiles from around the world. Her work is available through her online boutique and select pop-ups in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.
